RE-ELECT MAYOR DOUG HANSON TO INDIAN WELLS CITY COUNCIL 2012
It won't be long and before you know it election day will be here. The date this year is November 6th. We believe there will be a large turn out given this is a presidential election.
We also expect a very large slate of candidates for you to choose from. I am asking for your support based on my campaign promises of 2008, my record as a council member and as your mayor this year.
This election will be one of the most important in our city's recent history. As most of you know the state legislature eliminated all the Redevelopment Agency's in the state. The state's action has placed a tremendous financial burden on our city and will require the council to work together finding solutions to the problems we face. Our council, after three years have come together to solve these types of problems. I am prepared to meet the challenges that lay ahead and strongly believe I have the experience and knowledge to assist the city in accomplishing its budget objectives.
Indian Wells will experience an election like no other before it, we expect 12 people or more will be running for office. The cost will be enormous, possibly as high at $60,000, just to get your message out to the public. That is an unheard of number for our small city. It would appear that quite a few people believe than can do a better job than the existing council. That may have been true a year ago, but I would question that logic today. We now have a different City Manager, and a new structure on the council. Because of those changes the council is working in concert with each other.
The one thing you can count on; I will do what I say, just as I have in the past. Please look at my record when you look at all the candidates. I think when you do, you will find that I deliver on my promises.
I look forward to hearing what you have to say, so please stop me and give me your opinions and ideas as to how we might improve our city. I would also ask that you check out the balance of my web site and suggest how we might make improvements. You can email me at doug@hansonforcitycouncil.com

In the 2008 campaign, I did not take any campaign contributions; however, in 2012 my Campaign Committee has strongly recommended that accept campaign contributions in order to defray the ever increasing costs of running for Indian Wells City Council. The Campaign Committee believes costs will be significantly higher in 2012 than in 2008 and 2010. I am committed to matching all campaign contributions made to my 2012 campaign.
